Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, generating strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Residents witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

At one point on the previous day, over 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity expected across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
